Call for Speakers - Digital Marketing Bootcamp

Friday, May 18, 2018

12pm - 5:30pm, Hyatt Regency San Francisco

Share your Expertise in CONTENT + DIGITAL MARKETING with A/E/C Industry Marketers!

The Society for Marketing Professional Services, San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is hosting a half-day bootcamp to educate and inspire marketers in the architecture, engineering, construction, real estate and professional services industries on the topic of digital marketing.

What is the Society for Marketing Professional Services?

We are a nonprofit industry organization with more than 300 members, comprising decision makers and influencers in marketing and business development roles across the fields of commercial and residential architecture, engineering, construction, real estate, and other professional services. This is a target-rich audience with which to share your expertise, gain visibility and expand your business. These are eager-to-learn marketers who have very limited experience in digital marketing but the desire to understand and implement strategies to push their firms forward.

What kind of speakers are we looking for?

We are looking for content and digital marketing experts with exceptional delivery skills to join us on May 18, 2018 to share insights and innovations at our Digital Marketing Bootcamp in San Francisco. You should be able to inspire us, but offer concrete details as well (case studies, how-to’s, data proofs, ROI).

Above all, we are looking for actionable education: strategy, tools and techniques for planning and delivering the next generation of marketing.

We are looking for one (1) speaker on each of the four (4) topics below. The direction of each theme and associated content will be at your discretion with input from our leaders to develop presentations relevant to professional services marketing. Some ideas to get you thinking about your speaker pitch are below.

What is content marketing and why do it?  What is the true value to your firm, what are you missing by steering clear, how can you sell its time commitment, cost and benefits to firm leaders, what is the ROI / business case study on content marketing success?

  • WRITTEN CONTENT MEDIUMS (Breakout Session)
How do we apply content marketing strategy (discussed in the keynote) into tangible content that can be found by our target audience? Discuss do’s and don'ts of blogging, how to build a successful presence including frequency, length, tone, keywords, graphics, authors… Also discuss website platforms, dynamic sites, trends in web design, SEO or other related topics.

Very few of our firms are successfully using videos, VR, animation, apps, podcasts and other tech tools to enhance the sale of services whether it’s due to limited time or resources. But what technology should we be paying attention to, what will yield great results, how should one start with limited resources? Does it make sense to outsource to a videographer, buy the equipment in house, or use an automated software program? Help attendees understand what's out there, how to get started, and what benefits visually driven content can have on overall brand positioning.

  • MARKETING AUTOMATION (Breakout Session)
Marketing automation basics: What is marketing automation and how does it work? Very few firms in our industry have invested in automation software. Weigh pros and cons, what are personas, how do you develop them and why do you need them? Why are keywords, SEO, Calls to Action, Landing Pages and Social Media important components of your content marketing strategy? How can automation help you with all of the above, plus provide proper analytics and ROI?

  • We expect 100 people to attend.

  • Your presentation should be 1 hour followed by 15 minutes for Q&A.

  • Each breakout session presenter will present your content 3 times to smaller groups of approximately 30 people each. Keynote will present only once.

  • Access to wifi, AV equipment & screens will be provided — just bring your laptop or a USB.

  • This is a paid speaking engagement with excellent visibility with the AEC marketing community.

Testimonials from past SMPS speakers:

“It was such a privilege for me to present on Digital Marketing to such an esteemed chapter of SMPS. In addition to meeting new friends, I also made some valuable connections that ultimately turned into new business for my agency. Being aligned with the SMPS San Francisco chapter has certainly elevated my personal brand as a speaker, as well as my agency’s brand in the A/E/C marketplace.”
