The 2017 Founders Awards

thank you, 2017 participants

Thank you to the A/E/C leaders who participated in our 2017 awards program. On the evening of March 16, 2017, at the Hyatt Embarcadero in San Francisco, with views of the sunset over the Bay, the SMPS San Francisco Bay Area chapter held its first Founders Awards ceremony in nine years. Emceed by Myrna Wagner, VP of Business Development for Swinerton Builders and Past President of SMPS SFBAC, and Frank Lippert, owner of GO Strategies and past President of the SMPS Sacramento chapter, the night began with a cocktail hour and a showing of each submission for the night on display boards, allowing all attendees to cast their vote for the People’s Choice category.

A list of the 2017 winners is below. Read more about the winning entries in our Founders Awards Shortlist issue. See you again in 2019!

BACKGROUND

The SMPS SFBAC Founders’ Awards Program began in 2001 as a forum to recognize excellence in Marketing Communications in the built environment and to recognize an individual Marketer of the Year whose extraordinary expertise and achievements serve as a model for A/E/C marketing professionals. The Founders’ Awards Program is named to pay homage to a group of marketers who came together in the 1970s and called themselves BD Anonymous until the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of SMPS was incorporated in 1982.

AWARDS

Two awards are possible for each communications category, Award of Excellence or Award of Honor. Only one person can receive the honor of being named Marketer of the Year. The jury reserves to right not to give any awards in a category or to only give one award.
