    Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning are trending topics, but do you know the difference between the two? If AI summons an image of a robot on as assembly line, think twice and attend this enlightening panel discussion! AI technology is streamlining data collection and other processes and generating questions around what it all means in the A/E/C industry. How will the use of AI impact safety on job sites, engineer smarter buildings, or streamline our marketing and business development efforts? Attendees will gain insights needed to prepare their marketing and business development game plans for this game-changing technology. The session will dive into:

    • Understanding the differences between AI and machine learning
    • Learning how AI is affecting our industry now
    • Projecting how AI will affect our industry in the future

    Our speakers include:

    Alex Serriere, Principal, Executive Vice President at TEECOM, who founded the online forum “Architecture Ex Machina” to explore issues around the incorporation of artificial intelligence and machine learning into the A/E/C industry. His goal in understanding the future of A/E/C technologies is integral to his firm’s success, as many projects operate on extended timelines and rapid technology advances from initial proposals to building occupancy.

    Henning Roedel, Western Region Innovation Leader at DPR Construction, brings the General Contractor’s perspective. He serves as an expert in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and High-performance materials for DPR, helping craft the implementation strategy of those technologies across the company.

    Moderated by Lisa Hsiao is a Strategy Director in the Digital Experience Design group at Gensler. She is a design leader in the transformation and innovation space for global clients across diverse industries. Her work focuses on the intersection of the human behaviors within the digital and the physical realms, working with recent clients such as Adobe, Accenture, Stanford School of Engineering, and HPE. She firmly believe any project can be infused with everyday innovation, and looks forward a future where people and machines collectively can make an impact to further human goals.
