Get inspired with SMPS’ new Motivational Mondays! Each Monday during lunch we will have a 30 minute discussion surrounding our thoughts on a chosen TED Talk, book excerpt, article, or other encouraging content. All attending members will receive the topic and materials prior to the event to enjoy on their own time. It’s fun, it’s easy and it’s a great way to kick start your week with creativity and motivation. We hope to see you there.

This Motivational Monday we will be discussing The Leadership Superpower of the Post-Pandemic World.
Please make sure to listen to it at the link below:

**Registration is now closed. If you're interested in joining, please email Jillian Grabenstein at: [email protected]**

This session will be hosted by one of our sponsors, XL Construction. XL Construction is a leading general contractor whose mission is to “build to improve lives.” XL partners with today’s leaders in life sciences, advanced technology, corporate office, civic, healthcare, and education to create places that make our communities better. Their focus and passion for team success has earned us a network of great partners and a reputation for putting people first. XL is consistently ranked among the top general contractors in Northern California. This year they were named ENR California’s Top General Contractor of 2020 and the #1 Best Place to Work in the Bay Area.

Laura Guzman with XL Construction will be leading the discussion. Laura is an accomplished marketing and operations professional with over 15 years of industry experience. She has served in executive leadership positions with multiple AEC organizations, including as head of marketing and chief operating officer for Microdesk, a national BIM technology consultancy, and SVP of marketing and business development for global design engineering firm WSP. Today she is Vice President of Marketing & Communications for XL Construction, and for the past few months has been serving as a member of XL’s Pandemic Response Team. This small “swat team” was responsible for developing the company’s COVID-19 safety protocols and crisis communication strategy, an experience from which she has derived many lessons learned relevant to our Motivation Monday discussion topic!
