About Mentoring Pathways

Mentoring Pathways is designed to promote long-term leadership and career development through a one-on-one mentor-protégé relationship in conjunction with bi-monthly group workshops. Successful mentoring involves a dynamic process where each participant learns to respect and trust their partner’s commitment, expertise, and individuality. A firm commitment to the mentoring process and a willingness to invest time and energy are important components for a successful relationship and a rewarding program experience.


Protégés have the opportunity to grow from their mentor’s experience with guidance and support.

Mentors share their experiences and advice on such topics as career advancement, practice strategies, professional visibility, networking and overcoming barriers to career success.

  • Share your expertise and reap the benefits from knowing you played a role in boosting another’s career.
  • Share knowledge about developing a career path in the A/E/C industry.
  • Help a protégé to identify gaps in skills or experience that inhibit their current job or from moving to the next level commensurate with career goals.
  • Provide insight into the influence of politics and corporate culture on the protégé’s job and career path.
  • Share knowledge and experiences about common mistakes/pitfalls to aid the protégé to succeed.

Nov. 20th: Deadline for protege online applications.

Nov. 29th, 5 - 7 PM: Program Kickoff & Meet and Greet 

Dec. 21: Mentor / Protege preferences due

Jan 5: Mentoring Pairs announced

Six group meetings at TEECOM, 5:30 - 7 pm as follows:

Jan 31: Mentoring Pathways Meeting #1, "Building on Your Strengths & Recognizing Limiting Beliefs: Understanding how perspective impacts your creativity."

March 28: Mentoring Pathways Meeting #2, "Developing Goals and Plan of Action; Developing your personal brand; Declaring your personal project."

May 30: Mentoring Pathways Meeting #3, "Seizing Opportunities. Best practices. Skills Analysis."

July 25: Mentoring Pathways Meeting #4, "Tips and Tricks for managing stress and defining your personal boundaries to have work-life balance."

September 26: Mentoring Pathways Meeting #5, "Effective communication: Adopting communication tactics that help you grow as a leader."

November 8: Mentoring Pathways Meeting #6, "Reflection, assessment and acknowledgment."
